A word or two about Fevered Ego

 

I was born the year that Hank Williams died, I have had a blast living the last sixty years with music from start to finish. I was the youngest and had two brothers and three sisters so I heard it all from blue-grass to country to early rock and roll to early teen music to soul music to the British invasion to all the different genres that erupted in the sixties up through today. I only beat around with it as far as playing for most of my life until I was reintroduced to scales and basic music theory. Reintroduced I say, because when I was a kid growing up they taught music as well as art. I had been taught music theory but it had gotten lost in my brain for quite a few years until I found it again about 15-16 years ago. Have had a recording studio in my home for almost that long. Started writing my own stuff at the same time(thats the reason I had the studio)

Jeremy was born in 1980 in an old white house in Tennessee, from the get go music was everywhere for him. I raised him with a stereo blasting so he fell asleep many a nights with music pounding in his head. And I had a very diverse sense of music, I still have over a thousand albums, most of them from the fifties, sixties and seventies. I never listened to much radio, I was brought up when the whole album would be worth listening to. So not much top twenty for him from me, but he listened to some crap as all teens do A few years later I got back into music and Jeremy was there in the studio picking up the guitar and teaching himself after taking a few piano lessons when he was 10-11 or so.

Last year we started getting together to play a little. The more we played the more we wanted to play. We leaned more toward original material but after JJ Cale died last year we got into playing some of his music, so we kinda went on a JJ Cale binge and recorded some of his material. That led us to put down more favorites  as well as our original material. What is presented here was recorded from October to today in my loft studio, while Jeremy's girls slept downstairs.
